Tony Hernandez, 76, of DeSoto, passed away on Thursday January 31, 2019 after a lengthy illness. Tony was born in Dallas on January 24, 1943. He was a member of the DeSoto Elks Lodge for over 40 years and served in most of the offices including Exalted Ruler and Chairman of the Trustees. He was the ultimate Dallas Cowboys fan, liked to fish, sing Karaoke, travel and golf. He was preceded in death by his father Gonio Hernandez and is survived by his Mother Sadie Hernandez, his wife Kay, his children Frances (Housni) Safi, Karen (Doug) Harris, Tony J (Rachel) Hernandez, Mario (Stacy) Hernandez, Ricky (Barbie) Housewright, Randy Housewright, Dina Housewright, grandchildren Kenneth, Kristina, Kevin, Erika, Joey, Dylan, Kenny, Larry, eight great grandchildren, his sisters Frances (Ruben) Rodriguez, Annie (Ruben) Contreras, Theresa Ruiz, and Patricia Hernandez along with many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Tony was very proud of his family and loved to have fun whenever possible. He absolutely adored his wife Kay of 30 years, and was a father-figure to many bonus children throughout his life. His big smile and caring heart will be missed dearly.
