Burgess, Velma Marie Crow -- Age 90 of Mesquite, formerly of Dallas, passed away August 31, 2011. She worked as a hair stylist, beautician, for over 45 years and was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Warren Ralph Burgess, Sr. and her son, Peter Henry Burgess, 2 brothers, Paul and Dale Crow, and 2 sisters, Jessie Cramblet and Bonnie Dudley. Velma is survived by two sons, Warren Ralph Burgess, Jr., of Ft. Worth and David Harry Burgess, of Dallas, and daughters-in-law, Sandra and Linda; five grandchildren, Darren, Ryan, Brennan, Michelle Crooke, and Brenna Coley, as well as six great-grandchildren. Velma is also survived by two sisters, Gladys Moore of Sulphur Springs, and Lila Geddings of Ft. Worth, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home from 6-8 PM on Monday, September 5, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Grove Hill Funeral Home.
