Vera Romo-Garcia, 78, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026 surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply. She was a woman who truly loved with her whole heart, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Born October 8, 1947, she brought light into this world that never faded. To know her was to know comfort. She was the heart of her family, a master in the kitchen, and the proud creator of the absolute best sweet tea--a recipe that brought everyone together and tasted like home.
She found joy in the simple things, whether she was meticulously piecing together a puzzle, sharing her love for Betty Boop, dancing or listening to her favorite oldies. On game days, you could always find her passionately cheering on her beloved Dallas Cowboys. But her greatest joy by far was her family. She was a deeply devoted mother to her two sons, Joaquin D. Garcia and Raul C. Garcia, teaching them by example what it truly means to love unconditionally.
As a grandmother and great-grandmother, she was simply magical. She was always ready to play games with her grandchildren, pouring endless laughter, patience, discipline and fun into their lives. Her home was a safe haven where every generation felt completely adored.
She is survived by her devoted sons, Joaquin D. Garcia Sr. and Raul C. Garcia; her beloved brothers and sisters; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her endless pride; a wide circle of family and friends who will miss her fierce love and open arms.
