Verna Faye Deggs Mitchell, 99 of Garland, Texas, was born May 4, 1914 in Beauregard Parish, Louisiana. Verna Faye passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013. She was the daughter of William Walter Deggs and Katy Calvin Eugenia Jones Deggs. Verna Faye's husband Arle Herbert "Buck" Mitchell preceded her in death on September 15, 1968. A loving family survives her.

The funeral service will be at graveside in the Shiloh Cemetery, near Denning, Texas, in San Augustine County on Friday August 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
