VICTOR CABALLERO JR, age 76, passed away on October 28, 2023. He was born on May 26, 1947, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is survived by his spouse, Rita Yeakley, step-daughter, Jessica Miller, son-in-law, Roddy Miller, and granddaughter, Libby Miller. He is also survived by his sister, Sylvia Leal (Andy), brothers, Guadalupe Caballero (Anita), Rudy Caballero, and many beloved sister and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa and Victor Caballero, brother Ray Caballero, and sister Maximina Caballero.
He graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1966 and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1972. While at SHSU, he was on the Gymnastic Team, a cheerleader, and a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.
Victor worked for the National Cheerleading Association during summer breaks, and later taught elementary school in Pearland, Texas, after college graduation. In 1974, he began his career as a Juvenile Probation Officer for Dallas County, retiring after 40 years of service. He was also a beloved Coach at ASI Gymnastics.
Victor was the first in his family to obtain a college degree, and dedicated his life to assist and encourage nieces, nephews, and the youth that he supervised to further their education.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Victor Caballero Scholarship Fund, to assist Youths served by the Probation Department to achieve their educational goals.
