Victoria "Vickie" Leonora Mireles, age 71, of Carrollton, Texas passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022. Victoria was born March 23, 1951 in Dallas, Texas to Antonio Hernandez and Mary Mercado. She attended Saint Ann's Catholic School in Dallas, Texas, here is where she met and later married the love of her life, John Mireles on September 4, 1970. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1970. She retired from DISD after 35 years of service and was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church.
She was quite the fashionista, who loved her leopard print, lavender, and bling-bling. She loved to get all dolled up and it was very rare for you to see her without her hair, makeup, and nails done. Her hobbies included gardening, baking, reading the Food section from the Dallas Morning News and trying new recipes. She was a big Cowboys and Rangers fan, and loved her "Dak" and "Pudge", as well as the Beatles, butterflies, nutcrackers, and water aerobics.
She lit up every room she entered with her bright smile. She enjoyed spending time with all her loved ones, especially her grandchildren. She welcomed everyone, had such a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Victoria leaves behind her beloved husband John Mireles of fifty-one years; daughters, Lori Ramos and husband, Victor of Carrollton, Texas; Christie Guevara and husband Tony of Lewisville, Texas; Jennifer Franklin and husband John of Carrollton, Texas; Mother, Mary Mercado of Carrollton, Texas; siblings, Margaret Gonzalez (Joe) of San Antonio, Texas; Angie Works (Ron) of Longview, Texas; Edward Hernandez of Manti, Utah; Tony Hernandez (Theresa) of Farmers Branch, Texas ; Patsy Hernandez of Carrollton, Texas; Belen Mireles of Dallas, Texas; six precious grandchildren, Jonathan, Noah, Mateo, Ava, Mia, and Harlowe; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Victoria was preceded in death by her father Antonio Hernandez and step-father Cipriano (Roger) Mercado.
