Vi was born during the Depression in New York. She became a model in the NY garment district, where she met her husband, Stanley. They married, moved to Texas, and began their 50-year marriage together. Vi was a devoted stay-at-home mom to her three daughters. For her second act, she began a 25-year career at Neiman Marcus Northpark. She achieved top salesperson storewide for several years running. Simply put, Vi was a true style icon. After Stanley’s passing in 2003, she had another chance at love with Leonard Schaen; they were together until his passing just before the pandemic. And thus began the final chapter of Vi’s life. She moved into the Legacy Midtown where she spent the last four years among wonderful friends.
Vi is survived by three loving daughters and their husbands, Deborah and Peter Koeppel, Dana and Bruce Macdonough, Michelle and Stanley Lynch; five grandchildren, Alex Koeppel, Paige Koeppel Schlisser (Emanuel), Elizabeth Macdonough, Katherine Macdonough, and Julie Macdonough.
Vi will be interred at Sparkman Hillcrest in a private ceremony. Donations can be made to United Hatzalah of Israel, Jewish Federation, or Temple Emanuel.
