Virginia was born on September 19, 1927 to Ernest Beyer,Jr & Eunice Sligar Beyer. Granny often liked to share that she was born in Dallas, Texas, on the kitchen table, although her younger brother got to be born in a hospital she would say.
She was one of the first graduating classes at Sunset High School. After graduating, she went on to pursue a career in banking, at Republic Bank for 35 years.
She was loved by everyone she’d ever encountered. She was not only an amazing wife, mother, & friend, but the most wonderful, “Granny” to everyone in her life. Granny was admired for being a straight shooter who could put you in your place and you always knew where you stood, she had a tough exterior, with the most loving heart.
Virginia is now at peace, joining her husband Clarence Edward Chappell, Jr “Sonny”, her three children Clarence Edward Chappell III “Tinky”, Linda Susan Chappell, Michael Dale Chappell, & parents, Ernest Beyer, Jr & Eunice Sligar Beyer, brother Harry H. Beyer & nephew Mark T. Beyer.
Virginia is survived by her granddaughters Shelley Chappell & Lacie Sereika, great granddaughter, Holly Nicole Stephens and “adopted” granddaughters Lauren and Rebecca, great great grandchildren, Reagan, Ryker, & Reiner Sereika, Brynlee Ruth & Hudson Michael Stephens, sister in law and oldest friend Joyce Beyer, nieces Denise Chappell Marshall, Teri Chappell Boyd, Gail Beyer Walker & Mitzi Beyer Watts, friends & other family members, Eva Hernandez, Jamie Brackney, Tonya Soto, Hilda Ramirez,Rusty & Marcie Hansen and Shelley Davis. Sugars Chappell-whom she grew to love in the end even after all her fussing.
Extra special thanks to the caregivers at Silver Leaf Assisted Living & Memory Care and Miss Gidget for their loving care and support in taking care of Granny, Shelley knows she could not have taken this long journey without them.
