Virginia "Ginger" Ann Safar

The Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. on April 30, 2019, at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Lane, in Dallas, TX.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., May 1, 2019, at Calvary Hill Funeral Home and burial will follow at National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX. Arrangements are by Calvary Hill Funeral Home.

Ginger was born in Ennis, TX to Beatrice and John Santos on June 1, 1960. She graduated from Ennis High School in Ennis, TX, and married Dr. John Safar on June 20, 1992. She was a homemaker whose family was her life. She loved taking care of her husband and children and it was the joy of her life for 27 years. Her hobby was flower arranging, which was her passion and she enjoyed distributing the flower arrangements to nursing homes, family, and friends.

Ginger was preceded in death by her parents Beatrice and John Santos and father in law, Antoine Safar.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. John Safar, children, Sarah and Matthew Safar, mother in law, Pauline Ward, brothers and sisters, Dr. James and Charla Safar, Richard and Candace Ward, Andre and Sarah Ward, Larry Santos, Darleen Gifford and Doug Martin, Eva and Ralph Snipes, Bobby and Jackie Santos, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, Charmon Harrison and Shannon Diaz, and many other friends.

The family of Ginger Safar wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the 59th Medical Wing, the 59th Medical Group, the 59th Dental Training Squadron, and the Advanced Education of General Dentistry Flight at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio for all of their support.
