Vivian Eloise Sandlin Herrick passed away on November 2, 2020, at the age of 98. She was born in Delta County, Texas, the youngest of 13 children. She served her country proudly as a nurse and an Ensign in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and met the love of her life who became her husband, a handsome U.S. Army Captain named Vernon Herrick (also serving proudly during the war). They had two daughters, Gwynn Herrick of Euless, Texas, and Janann Herrick Moffat of San Diego, California. Vivian continued to practice nursing and retired as a school nurse from the DISD after 44 yrs. In addition to her two daughters, she is survived by her three grandchildren, Meagan George of San Pedro, CA, Pearce Moffat of San Diego, CA, and Jennica Moffat of Sacramento, CA. Services will be held on November 11th at 1:00 p.m., at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with graveside service to follow.
