Wanda Oleta Ferguson

Wanda O. Ferguson, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 5, 2017. She was with her family and loved ones in Austin, TX. Wanda was born on June 21, 1931 on a small farm in Temple, Oklahoma to William and Artie Lee Hasten Ray. While working in a bank in Dallas, TX, Wanda met and married John Knox Ferguson, who preceded her in death. Always a lover of the arts, Wanda opened her own arts & crafts and imported toy shop, The Swinging Bough, in Casa Linda in Dallas. She was an avid gardener, an artist, a loving wife and mother, a doting grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family and friends dearly and was always ready for a good game of dominoes. Although it was difficult for her to communicate in the last few years of her lifer, that never stopped her from making new friends wherever she went, Wanda was a strong and inspiring Christian. Though she will be missed, Wanda is survived by her daughter Cheryl Crawford, Philip Crawford, granddaughter Traci Armstrong, great-grandson Ollie Armstrong and cousins June Compton and Judy Webb. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 2pm at Grove Hill Memorial Park. A special thanks to the loving and supportive staff at Riverside Nursing and Rehab Center in Austin, TX.
