

Faye was born in Shirley, Arkansas ,on July 21, 1933, to the late Hugh and Myrtle (Neely) McKnight. She had a deep fondness for her childhood in Shirley, growing up in the idyllic small town with her two sisters, Reba Hugh Williams and Emily Maurine Winnette.
She graduated from Arkansas Tech in 1954 with a teaching degree and went on to teach both Biology and Health in Plainview, Arkansas. One summer she applied for temporary work with American Airlines in Dallas and found that she enjoyed both the work and the city. This summer job spurred a decades-long career with the company, remaining there until her retirement in 1995.
She married her beloved husband, Roger Don Horn, on September 20, 1959. Their 62 years together were filled with love, laughter, travel and service. Always up for an adventure, Faye and Roger toured the world together, taking advantage of the benefits of airline employment. When asked her favorite location, without hesitation she said she loved Hawaii most. Upon retirement Faye and Roger spent many years as active and loyal volunteers in their church and with various organizations. She particularly enjoyed her time working with Habitat for Humanity and
Meals on Wheels.
Faye was a natural athlete and took great care in maintaining her physical fitness. She worked out regularly at the Cooper Center in Dallas, taking Tai chi and yoga classes. She was a member of the American Airlines softball and bowling teams. She also participated in the Race for the Cure and many other local races annually.
Faye is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Myrtle McKnight, and her two sisters, Reba Hugh Williams and Emily Maurine Winnette. She is survived by her cherished husband, Roger Don Horn. She is also survived by her nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Spring Valley United Methodist Church, 7700 Spring Valley Road, Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
