Pete passed away peacefully on February 9, 2011 in Dallas Texas after a long and eventful life of 90 years. He is survived by his sister, Jean Haavig, his two loving children, Lauralee and Rex, his two grandchildren, Ben and Dylan, his daughter-in-law, Roslyn and son-in-law, John Casterline. Remembering him also are his sister’s family: Norlin, Jody, Jill and Raleigh Haavig of Seattle, along with several special friends and step grandchildren, Steven and Diane Hartenstein. His wish is to be remembered as a loving husband to his wife of 64 years, Gini, who passed away in July of 2009. Pete’s life could not meaningfully continue without her and he is happy to finally join Gini again in whatever awaits us after life on earth has ended. Family and friends remember Pete also as a man of deep philosophy, cheerful in every challenge, always interested in how we were doing. His was a life to be admired.
Arrangements under the direction of Calvary Hill Funeral Home, Dallas, TX.
