I met Wayne back in 1995 when I joined the Turtle Creek Chorale.  While I stayed with the chorale only a year, I stayed connected with Wayne through Classic Chassis Car Club and most recently through membership at First Presbyterian Church of Dallas where Wayne was so happy to be a member of the chancel choir.  I think he had found a place of love and belonging at FPC and am grateful that I was again able to connect with him in these final months of his life.

I have known Wayne since high school. While I was active in the instrumental music programs in school, Wayne was active in the choral music programs. He was not only an excellent musician, but just an all round great guy, known and liked by many. The thing I will always remember about Wayne was his warm smile and easy going manner. He will be missed greatly, but I know that the heavenly choir's Tenor section just became a little brighter with the addition of its  newest angel. May he continue to sing on!

For all of you who have been blessed to have had time with Wayne in recent years, you will not be surprised to know that he was that same sweet, ever-smiling, kind-hearted young man in high school. It makes me sad to hear of his passing, as we had made plans to have lunch the next time I visit Texas. Thank you to all of you who made him feel like the special, loving man he was. R.I.P. now, sweet friend. You will not be forgotten.

Wayne's kindness and helping hand, dedication to his work and love of music will live on in all of us who knew him.  He made our lives brighter and our paths easier by his presence.  Quick to embrace his brothers in song, his sweet smile and eagerness to serve made us all better musicians and better men.  Sing on dear Wayne.

Wayne, you never failed to greet me with a smile and a big hug. I'm honored to have known you, and I am forever inspired by your love for the TCC and your Turtle brothers. You're a shining example to us all, and I will miss you.

Wayne, thank you for easy laughs and open arms, thank you for a TCC culture of welcoming warmth, and thank you for your constant playful smile. Rest in peace knowing we all are better for having known you - even those of us who had only a short time with you.

I remember the first time and last time I saw Wayne. Both times he was so nice to me because he wanted me to feel welcome. Every time I saw him he had a warm smile and something nice to say. I will miss him. Rest in peace, brother Wayne.

I will miss Wayne for his unconditional hugs and welcoming smile.  His legacy is that he cared and wasn't shy about showing his love for his Turtle Brothers.  
Rehearsals will be a little less brighter without his presence.  Rest in Peace my Turtle Brother.  Sing On!

It is with great sorrow that we part with our 'Turtle Brother', Wayne Davis on this side of Jordan, but oh what joy when we meet on the other side When we reach that blessed homeland, where there's everlasting day; on that bright and blessed morning, God shall wipe all tears away. 

Always bear in mind that spirit was never born and spirit can never die. Remember that God gives grace for each trial, and courage for each sorrow and faith to face in confidence a blessed, sweet, blissful and bright tomorrow.

I had the pleasure of meeting Wayne Davis in 2002, as I arrived as a new member of the Turtle Creek Chorale. Since we both were  members of the tenor section, I quickly gained deep respect for his musical abilities in choral music. Moreover, he exhibited outstanding leadership as president of the chorale during his tenure.

The city of Dallas, state of Texas, the LGBT Community and the Turtle Creek Chorale has lost an outstanding musician and friend.

As I go to my Father in prayer, I will ask for a special blessing for the entire family of Mr.Wayne Davis.
