William Edward Delatour

William Edward Delatour, lovingly known as “Billy” and “Coach Billy” passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 17, 2026. He left behind a lifetime of love, family, faith, and cherished memories.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife Lisa Delatour, his children Bobby Delatour, Caroline (Callie) Delatour, and Sarah Portnoy, his brother John (Ann) his nephew William Delatour (Brittany) and his niece Mary Grace Mewett, and her children Rylan and Elise.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Grace and Russ Delatour, his brother Tom and his nephews David Delatour and Walker Delatour. Their memory remained an important part of Bill’s life and his family’s story.

Bill was born in Dallas, Texas. He was a man of tremendous faith and a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. He had a pure heart and was known for his kindness, patience, generosity, and caring spirit. His faith was an important part of who he was and how he lived his life.

Bill attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. He graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas. He raised his family in Richardson, Texas, where he became deeply involved in the lives of his children and their friends.

In his youth Bill was a gifted athlete and a true leader, qualities that continued to shine throughout his life, especially in his coaching. He coached many sports during his children’s elementary school years earning him the beloved name “Coach Billy.” He taught those around him the importance of patience, encouragement, teamwork, and most of all, having fun.

Through his coaching and his love for his family, Bill created countless wonderful memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His willingness to give his time to others and his genuine care for the people around him made a lasting impression. Bill will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.

A Celebration of life service will take place at Birdies Eastside 6221 E. Mockingbird Ln. Dallas, TX 75214 Monday, October 12th at 5PM.
