William Duane McKown, 53, of Desoto, TX, passed away, Wednesday, October 26, 2016, surrounded by his family after a brief illness. A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, October 31 at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel, 6000 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232, and Reverend Joel Porter will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. He graduated from Irving High School in 1981 and received his Masters degree from Texas Tech in 1991. Duane was employed by Methodist Hospital Systems of Dallas for 16 years. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing in his beloved Colorado. Duane is survived by his two sons, Matthew and Jacob McKown of Waxahachie, Texas, his mother, Rebecca McKown of Desoto, Texas, his sister Rochelle McKown (Jimmy), his brother David McKown (Stacy) and several nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles McKown in 2006.
