

William H. “Bill” Muessig, went to be with his Lord on January 25, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elma and Harold “Huck” Muessig and sister, Doris. Bill was born on January 29, 1922 and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Cooley High School and attended Wayne State University where he met his future bride, Mary Helene Glass. Bill proudly served in World War II in the famous 103rd Infantry Division (Cactus) where he specialized in reconnaissance patrols. On January 7, 1950 he married the love of his life, Mary Helene Glass and they immediately moved to Texas where they became “true Texans” and raised four children. Bill was production manager at Tracy Locke Advertising Agency, General Manager at Excel Screen Process and Senior Purchasing Agent at the Stanford Ad Agency, a division of the Southland Corporation from where he retired. Bill was an avid golfer and gifted oil painter. After retirement, Bill spent about 10 years volunteering at the Food Pantry at St. Michael Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife Mary; son: Craig Muessig & wife Alice; daughter: Teena Zihlman & husband Andy; son: Jeff Muessig & wife Cindy; daughter: Janet Coyle & husband Floyd. He loved his grandchildren: Coleen, Caroline and Kurt Zihlman; Chris Coyle & wife Katie; Lori Kahil & husband Keith; Jeni and Will Muessig, and Betty Marie Muessig. The light of his life was his great grandson: Jacob Coyle. Bill will also be missed by his constant companion; his dog Pudge.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to our friends and caregivers Betty and Theo, Fr. Joseph Mehan and Gloria Figueroa for their spiritual support, the staff at Seasons Hospice especially Susie, Chasity, Marie, Jennefer, and Laura for their love and assistance. The family will greet friends Monday, January 28, 2013 at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. led by Rev. Msgr. Thomas W. Weinzapfel. The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 950 Trails Parkway, Garland, TX 75043 with Rev. Joseph A. Mehan Jr., Celebrant. A reception will follow the Mass at the church with the private interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett, TX.
