Born on December 26, 1953, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bill lived a life full of laughter and meaningful connections.
Bill graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1975 with a degree in business and proudly served as president of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. After college, he worked as an accountant and manager for Pratt Hotel Corp. and Sands Hotel and Casino in San Juan Puerto Rico. He later channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into several business projects. His greatest joy came from the people and moments that made life rich—family, friendship, travel, and dogs by his side.
Bill especially loved to travel and found great happiness on cruises with his wife, Elizabeth, and his brother’s family. He adored his many dogs over the years, each one a beloved companion and a source of constant joy.
He is survived by his two sons, Michael Pratt and William “Bill” Pratt III, and five grandchildren; his brother, Shannan Pratt; and his sister, Shawn Bradshaw. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth; his daughter, Kimberly; his father, William Dean Pratt Sr.; and his mother, Anita Unger.
Bill will be remembered for his generous spirit, his sense of humor, his love of animals, and the way he made everyone feel like they belonged. He lived fully, loved deeply, and left behind a lifetime of stories and laughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the SPCA of Dallas, an organization close to Bill’s heart.
