

Born on November 28, 1961, in Lakewood, Ohio, Bill was the son of Robert Gordon Swinton and Virginia Jeane Swinton. He pursued his education at Texas Tech University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance graduating in December of 1983. His professional life was marked by dedication and longevity, as he enjoyed a distinguished thirty-four year career with Brim Laundry Machinery.
On February 2, 1991, Bill married the love of his life, Brenda Brim, at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, beginning a devoted partnership that would anchor his life. Together they welcomed two children, a son, Samuel Gordon, born on October 6, 1992, and a daughter, Charlotte Leigh, born on September 4, 1996. His joy deepened immeasurably when he became a proud grandfather with the birth of Olivia Michael to Sam and Haylee on July 18, 2024.
Bill was a man of wisdom and unwavering faith, a loyal friend, and a natural problem solver. He had a gift for recognizing the potential in others, always ready to encourage and help those around him find success. This quality was especially important to Bill's relationship with his children. He coached them in various sports helping them to "feel the game". He was also a game changer when projects for the science fair came due; Bill always found the materials and time to help his children understand the principles of whatever contraption they built for the fair which included our favorite a working hover craft. He spent a whole summer watching WW2 movies with Charli explaining the battles in depth so that she would be prepared for history courses the next school year. Many happy family memories center around Bill's efforts to assist his children be their best. He loved to host events that included games and trophy presentations. He is legend for discs he burned on the plasma machine to commemorate golf outings, poker tournaments, or anything that Bill felt needed to have special acknowledgment.
A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Dallas, Bill lived his life guided by his Christian beliefs and the comfort of God's promises.
Bill is survived by his wife, Brenda; his son, Samuel Gordon (Haylee); his daughter, Charlotte Leigh; his granddaughter, Olivia Michael Swinton; his brother, Scott Matthew Swinton (Mary); his sister-in-law, Trudi Zaplac Swinton; his brother-in-law, Markland Paul Brim (Carolyn); and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gordon Swinton; his mother Virginia Jeane Swinton; his brother Robert Bret Swinton; grandfather, Arthur Gordon Swinton, grandmother Elizabeth Swinton; grandfather Harry Young; grandmother, Esther Young.
A service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at First Baptist Church of Dallas in Lovvorn Hall, 1707 San Jacinto Street, on October 7, 2026, at 10:00 in the morning. Park in the Horner Parking Garage. reception will follow at the church.
