

WEATHERS, William Paul Weathers Sr, age 85, died at his home in Dallas on September 30, 2014. He was born on September 10, 1929 in Fort Worth, Texas. He spent part of his high school at Subiaco Academy in Arkansas, and graduated in 1947 from Paschal High School in Fort Worth. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1951 and served for three years in the infantry. He was stationed in Kansas and Georgia and attained the rank of First Lieutenant before his discharge in 1954. With the help of the GI Bill, he attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated in August of 1956 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. After his graduation he joined the Investments Section of the Fort Worth National Bank Trust Department in September 1956. Immediately after joining the Trust Department staff, he began post-graduate studies at Texas Christian University. He received his Masters in Business Administration from T. C. U. in June of 1960. As an Investment Analyst, he was a member of the Dallas association of Investment Analysts. He was also a member of the Fort Worth Chapter of the American Institute of Banking. Was an instructor with TCU’s Evening college from 1961 to 1966.
Paul joined the Fort Worth Boat Club at Eagle Mountain Lake in Fort Worth, Texas in 1958, and became an avid sailor. He raced sailboats on the weekends and held several club offices such as Secretary and Commodore of the Junior Sailors. He won many races and held a strong interest in sailing especially sailboat racing.
Paul married Julia Bird Muller in August, 1959 at Christ Church Episcopal Church in Laredo, Texas, and was married for 20 years.
He was awarded the professional designation of Chartered Financial Analyst by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts in March of 1965.
Paul worked for the Fort Worth National bank until he was Elected Vice President and Trust Investment Officer in charge of the trust investment division of the Mercantile National Bank, Dallas, Texas in February of 1967. He was President of the Dallas Association of Investment Analysts in 1975, and the President of the Dallas Economist Club in 1976. He worked at the Mercantile National Bank until 1977. In 1978 he purchased an area franchise for Precision Tune and opened his first Precision Tune automobile tune-up repair shop. Over the years his company opened eight Precision Tune auto care stores. He also started his own company, Texas Tune Up, selling auto parts from a warehouse in Dallas, Texas.
Paul married Terry Costa in September, 1987 at St. Michael’s and All Angels Episcopal Church in Dallas, Texas.
After his retirement from Precision Tune and Texas Tune Up he helped his wife Terry at her dress store, Terry Costa. He was also a partner in 360 Financial Mortgage and Loan with his son, John.
Paul was preceded in death by his brother Warren Ernest Weathers. He is survived by his sister Gloria Wharton, his wife Terry, and his sons Paul and his wife Tonya and their children Bryson and Belle, Bob and his wife Nydia and their children Cole and Ally, and John and his wife Ashley and their children Austin and Micayla, and his step children Adrienne Costa Brown and her husband Derek of San Diego, California, and Kevin Costa and his wife Maureen of New York, New York.
The funeral service will be held Friday, October 3rd, 2014 at St. Michael and All Angels Chapel with burial services to follow at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas.
