Willie Yvonne Wright

Willie grew up in the North Eastern portion of Dallas, which is now referred to as the City Place neighborhood of Dallas and was proud graduate of Booker T Washington high school. After graduating high school, Willie embarked on a successful career in mortgage underwriting. She dedicated her professional life to helping countless individuals and families secure mortgages and achieve their dreams of homeownership.

An avid reader of fiction novels, Willie could often be found curled up in bed with a book, lost in the world of stories.

Willie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wright Sr; her parents, Claude and Mary Wilkerson. She is survived by her son, Roosevelt Wilkerson and his wife Krishana; her son, Edward Wright Jr; her grandchildren, Alexis Wilkerson and Isaiah Wilkerson; and her sisters, Mavis Radford, Jewel Watson, and Angie L. Johnson.

A celebration of Willie's life will be held on February 8, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Laurel Land Funeral Home, located at 6300 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75232. A reception will follow immediately after the service in the Event Room.
