Her religious experience began at an early age at the Methodist AME Church. She attended Booker T Washington in her hometown. She was an Excellent basketball player. She worked as a nutritionist at the Hockaday school. She was able to retire herself in 1985, from the Texas A&M Expanded Nutrition Program. She loved cooking for her family, friends and strangers. Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, two daughters Patricia & Winnie.
She is survived by her two sons Steven Miller & Carl Wilson Jr and one daughter Rene McDowell, six granddaughters, nine grandsons and a host of great, and great great grandchildren. On the day of her death she is remembered as reciting 23rd Psalms numerous times “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want”. At long last, Memaw is seated at the table the Lord has prepared.
