Wuanita Eloise Pease Wells was born in Traverse City, MI on August 7, 1927 to parents Albert Walter Pease and Gertrude Eloise Nason. Wuanita passed away on April 13, 2021 at Crestview Court nursing home in Cedar Hill, TX.
The family moved to Chicago, IL. As a young woman, Wuanita was very creative and musical. She belonged to a singing group called the Sweet Adellines, which performed in the Chicago area.
Her family made another move to Leesburg, FL. The family belonged to First Christian Church. Wuanita met her husband, Emmet E Wells, there and eventually married on June 6, 1947 in that same church. They were married for 62 years and had one Golden son, Edwin “Gene” E. Wells. Gene was like Wuanita, always caring about other people.
In 2001 Emmet “Ed” and Wuanita moved to Cedar Hill, TX to be closer to Gene and his growing “Big Blended” family. Wuanita and Ed had five grandchildren: Eddie, Heath, Rhett, Melissa, and Andy. These grandchildren gave Wuanita her “Pride and Joy” - 12 great grandchildren: Liam, Roen, Ethan, Kenzie, Fielder, Cooper, Leighton, Steven, Jackson, Sophie, Libby and Max. Wuanita loved spending time with her great grandchildren. She never missed a special day and loved hanging out at the house with the kiddos. We had a special thing in our family that the kids know as the Shake your Booty party. Wuanita was there for all of the parties.
Wuanita had seven brothers and sisters: Esther Rose, Albert Charles, Dale Owen, Ralph Albert, Robert Earl, Edwin Walter and Dorothy Mabel. She also had many nieces and nephews. She was a great writer and kept in touch with her family.
Wuanita was preceeded in death by her husband, Emmett, and their son, Gene.
Wuanita never knew a stranger. She always made people feel like family.
We will miss her love, crazy humor, creativity, musicality, and strong Christian foundation. We were blessed beyond words to have her to the age of 93!!
We all know that when Wuanita entered the gates of Heaven..God said, “Well done my Good and Faithful Servant.”
