Wyn Ed Boaen

Wyn was born on December 27, 1949, in Gorman, Texas, to Sylvene and James Boaen. He was raised in Eastland, Texas, where he spent his early years before going on to attend Stephen F. Austin State University. In 1974, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing.

Wyn dedicated his professional life to sales and leadership roles in the carpet, chemical, and insurance industries, which concluded at The Flying Carpet, where he served as President. Among his proudest career accomplishments was his role as a chairperson and sponsor for more than 25 years, through which he exemplified leadership, commitment, and service to others.

Outside of his career, Wyn found joy in cooking, biking, hiking, volunteering, and, most of all, spending time with his family. Those who knew him will remember him as a kind man with a big smile, a servant leader whose generosity of spirit and dedication to others left a lasting impact on many lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sylvene Boaen.

Wyn is survived by his daughters, Nicole Harris and her husband, Joel Harris, and Wendy Boaen and her husband, Lance Andreas; his grandchildren, Jack Harris, Thomas Harris, Brayden Andreas, and Parker Andreas; his brother, Verell Boaen and his wife, Cindy Boaen; and two nephews, Eric and Grant Boaen.

A funeral service will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home, located at 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228, United States. The service is scheduled for February 12, 2026, at 10 am with a visitation to follow the service at 11 am to 12 pm.
