

Yvonne Stratford Gipson was born to the parentage of Billie and Vivian Riley Stratford on March 16, 1940, in Fairfield, Texas, and entered eternal rest on July 27, 2015. Yvonne united with New Zion Baptist Church at an early age. She attended Dogan High School and graduated in 1958. She was a member of Dogan High Alumni. She moved to Dallas after graduation and worked at Holiday Cleaners for many years. She united with Greater Shiloh Baptist Church immediately after moving to Dallas, and she later moved her membership to Concord Church under the leadership of Pastor Bryan Carter. She met and married Sylvester Chambers, who passed away in 1981. Later, Yvonne married Will Gipson. Those who met Yvonne at Heaven’s gates are: her parents; a baby boy; and four brothers, L.B., Kinsley, Billie, and Hayward Stratford. She leaves to cherish her sweet memory: two sons, Wallace and Larry Chambers; one daughter, Melissa Gipson; four grandchildren, LaKeisha and Vivian Chambers, Hana Muhammad, and Naquan Davis; four great-grandchildren, Savannah, Sanaa, and Leo Morris IV, and Carrington Davis; two brothers, Randy and Boyd C. Stratford; three sisters, Modine Betts, Willie Jean Crawford, and Joyce Ward, all of Dallas, Texas. Yvonne also leaves a host of nieces and nephews who love her dearly as well as many other relatives and friends.
