

Yvonne Faye Hafercamp passed away at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas on April 8, 2011. She was born in Warrenton, Texas April 11, 1930 to Elgin J. and Linda J. Lenert. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Fayetteville High School. Then she moved to Houston and worked for the Bell Telephone Company. She married David E. Hafercamp in 1950 at Zion Lutheran Church in Houston and they built their own home in North Houston. She taught Sunday School and participated in many Church activities at Zion and was very active in the PTA for Hohl Elementary and Our Savior Lutheran Schools. She also served as a Girl Scout leader and worked the election polls for many year. Around 1975 they transferred their membership to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Houston. Around this time she began working at a Christian Book Store in Houston but eventually they moved to Palestine, TX and attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church. They made many dear friends in Palestine but due to health reasons, they moved to Dallas. Here, she became a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Dallas. She is survived by 2 daughters, Dorcas Hirst and her husband John and Faith Nimtz and her husband Gary: 5 grandchildern: John David, Stephen, and Timothy Hirst and Amanda (Nimtz) Ziegenbein and her husband Zebadiah and Katlyn Nimtz.
She will be missed for the sharing of her strong faith in Jesus Christ and encouragement and support to others in service to the Lord.
Services were held on Tuesday, April 12,2011 at Noon at Zion Lutheran Church in Dallas. She was laid to rest at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 11AM.
