I met Nanny over 24 years ago when her granddaughter,Kristi started dating my nephew Clint...soon they were having a baby and that baby was Brandi.

My sister Linda and I would go by and pick Nanny up and we would go watch Brandi in a school function or sport activity...or just visit and have a cup of coffee. She always made you feel welcome. Nanny was a very special lady and will be sorely missed.

Nanny, I know you have reunited with Linda and Clint at your peaceful eternal home.

Even though I only had the privilege of knowing Nanny for the last couple years it was obvious how much people respected her. She just had a grace about her, her smile would light up the room. I still remember last Thanksgiving at her house me and my mother found out she was born in Louisville . We all talked about our child hood memories and hangouts. To see her light up when talking about our hometown will be a memory I'll never forget.  I'm saddened to see you go.

I met Zelma (Nanny) for the first time almost 5 years ago. I married her grand daughter, Misti, not long after and soon brought a baby girl into the world that we were thrilled to name after her, Harper ZEL Brand. When Harper is old enough to learn more about her Great Nanny, she will certainly feel honored to share that name with her and we are so happy the name will live on. But we also know that her spirit will live on through all of us that got to know her and spend time with her. She was always so gracious to me, even before I married into the family. Smiled a lot and was one of the few that laughed at all my jokes. I feel privileged to have spent even a small amount of time getting to know  her and its always been very obvious to me just how much her the family loves and respects her. She will be missed but remembered always!

My mom was born in Kentucky. She was one of fifteen children. She married dad, Chester Grimes, in 1945 and came to Texas on a train. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Chester Grimes, and grandson, Brandon Galloway.  She is survived by four children, Linda Scott, Johnny Grimes, Tina Spencer, Connie Galloway, and nephew, Billy Grimes. Mother is also survived by 2 sisters and two brothers the reside in Kentucky. She is survived by numerous grandkids and great grandkids. Mom loved the lord and couldn’t wait to be in his presence.

Mrs. Grimes was always such a vivacious person, full of life and always smiling.  Her eyes danced with mischief  and delight during conversations.  You always felt  welcome in her home and she was always gracious to visitors.  She had personality plus!  My memories of her are sweet and precious.
Hopefully, sweet memories will sustain you all as you grieve the loss of your loved one.  May love, comfort, and peace surround you.

What a huge hole in my heart that will never be healed. I know you are at peace and pain free. Here these last couple years havent been easy. I know your resting from all the pain. My Nanny meant the world to me and more. She took me under her wing and was a great part of who i am today. I thank her for all the love and support that she has given me all my life. For the many time she had rubbed my head when i am sick and all the long talks when i just didnt understand when something went wrong or something just wasnt right.  It gives me so much peace to know that she and grandpa, my cousin Brandin, Brandi Aunt Linda & Brandi Daddy Clint are all Dancing and enjoying Heaven with out us!  I will love her and miss her with every heart beat and breath i will take. I was so mad when you left, but i know your happy in Heaven.
