Mrs. Sousa was born on August 9, 1936 in Ferreiros do Dão, Portugal to the late Jose Canhão and Ilda da Costa.
Mrs. Sousa worked as a seamstress as well as at Davis and Geck, until her retirement in 1985.
She enjoyed dancing, cooking for large groups, and nurturing her garden. However, her devotion to her family and faith surpassed all other interests.
She leaves behind her daughter and son-in- law, (with whom she resided), Marlene and Anthony Cook; her precious grandchildren, Paul Sequeira (Lara) and Tyler Sequeira (Jasmine), and the lights of her life, her great grandchildren, Aliyah Belle and Evan Carter, as well as a brother, sister-in-law, and niece.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, sister and two infant brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Ferreiros do Dao, Portugal.
