

Annunciata De Jesus Figueiredo DeSousa, 82, of Danbury, CT, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at her daughter’s home with her beloved family at her side. She was the wife of Amandio DeSousa for 57 years. Annunciata is also survived by her sons Bernard DeSousa of Torrington, Eric and his wife Anna DeSousa of Danbury, her daughter Christina DeSousa of Torrington, and seven grandchildren: Bernie, Samantha, Kathy, Kevin, Michael, Bianca DeSousa, Kyle Secor, as well as several nieces and nephew in Portugal and France.
Annunciata was born on August 12,1938 in Penalva Do Castelo,Portugal. She was the daughter of Antonio De Almeida Figueiredo and Filomana DeJesus. She was one of their 9 children. Annunciata was predeceased by her sibling(s) Anastacio and Joao and is survived by Iolanda, Emidio, Jose, Helena, Laura, Carlos and Lucinda.
Annunciata had married her husband at the age of 25 where they moved to France and lived there for 7 years and had their 3 children. In 1972 the family came to the United States. She worked as a factory worker for several years with her last job at Radial Bearing, which she retired from in 2000 and moved back to Portugal with her husband. She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sibling, and aunt. We will miss her very much!
Private calling hours will be held at Green Funeral Home 57 Main Street Danbury, CT 06810 on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. A public graveside service will follow at Saint Peter Cemetery, Lake Avenue Extension Danbury, CT.
