Anthony was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 8, 1939, the second son of Salvatore and Crocifissa Grazia. He was a first generation Italian American and grew up in Glendale, Queens. He met the love of his life and his match Barbara Mancuso riding home on the bus from Richmond Hill High School. They married in 1961 and lived in Glendale, NY.
Tony was a First Class Private Military Policeman in the U.S. Army. He was honored to serve his country in two tours at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He prided himself in his work for Pan American Airways and later UPS.
Tony was an avid baseball fan. He cried when the Dodgers left Brooklyn in 1957 and loved the New York Mets. He adored cars, dancing, traveling, and exchanging stories with everyone he met. His work ethic was inspiring and allowed him to share the world with his wife and children during his days working at PanAm. He worked in the PanAm Building in Manhattan and then moved to Rockleigh, NJ offices which inspired him to move the family to Pearl River, NY in 1976.
Tony and Barbara retired in Bluffton, South Carolina, where he drove his infamous green polka-dot golf car and collected too many classic cars to store in a single garage.
Tony made a lasting impression through his generous spirit, sense of humor, and gift for conversation. He could often be found sharing a slice of pizza with his family at Frank Pepe’s or enjoying a glass of red wine at The Village at Brookfield Happy Hour.
Tony was predeceased by his wife Barbara and his brother, Frank Grazia. He was a loving father to Tony and Karen Grazia and Connie Grazia and Karen Graff, and grandfather to Grayson, Sierra, Summer, Saige, and Jolie.
Friends are invited to celebrate Tony’s life on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at The Candlewood Inn, 506 Candlewood Lake Rd, Brookfield, CT 06804 from 3pm Service 4-7pm Reception.
