Antonio Alves Candido

Antonio was born June 18, 1925 in Ferreiros do Doa, Portugal he was the son of the late Jose Candido and Maria Alves Candido. In 1969 Antonio moved to Danbury where he worked as a laborer for Local Union 677 for companies including Connecticut Comprovia and Waters Construction.

Survivors include his children: Antonio Alves and his wife, Celeste, of Bethel; Jose Alves and his wife, Diane, of Danbury; Elisa Marques and her husband, Jose of Danbury and Mary Jo Sousa and her husband, Louis, of Danbury. His grandchildren: Tony Alves and his wife, Elyssa; Victor Alves and his wife, Sue; Michael Marques; Mark Alves and his wife, Lisa; Christopher Alves; Jaclynn Alves; Sandra Martins and her husband, Carlos; Amanda Sousa and Derek Sousa. Fourteen great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild also survive.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Danbury, with the Rev. Jose Britto-Martins, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Ferreiros do Dao, Portugal.

Friends will be received from 5-8pm on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
