

Born on 3/15/1929, she was a lifelong Danbury resident who enjoyed things such as the Danbury Fair and even worked at Lee Hat Factory after she graduated in 1946.
Following that, she went to work for Ethan Allen for 27 years, 20 of which, were spent in the warehouse office in Newtown, CT. She later retired in 2001.
Following her retirement, Arlene went on to do her favorite job, be a Grandma. She was part of many milestones including birthdays, plays, sporting events and her most favorite of all, Christmas. Nothing made her more happy, than giving special Chirstmas presents each year and being with her family.
She is predeceased by her parents, Aksel & Carrie Andersen, as well as her siblings, Edward, Martin, & Harold Andersen and Hazel Bird. She was also predeceased by her partner, Richard Clapp, who she shared many memories with while traveling around the world.
She is survived by her two sons: Donald Grant and his wife, Betty; and David Grant and his wife, Joan; as well as four grandchildren: Tina, David, Mark and Laura.
Arlene will also be missed by many family and friends including her great friend, June Valenti.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10am on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury with the Rev. Dustin Trowbridge, Rector of St. James Church, Danbury, officiating. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received from 4pm-7pm on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
In lieu of flowers, Arlene would like donations to be sent to a local Danbury organization “2nd Go” (www.2ndGo.org). Arlene always had great resepect for the military and felt veterans deserved support.
