Arlene was born on August 20, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy Haynes. She attended PS-135 and Graduated from Jamaica High School in 1952.
Arlene is survived by her four children Michael Paciello, (Young), Patti McGovern-Koren, (John), David Paciello, and Stephen Paciello, (Michelle); Arlene loved and adored her nine Grandchildren, Benjamin (Matt), Thibaut, Zachary, Kate (Joe), Jonathan (Anna), David (Danielle), Georgia (Kevin), Aaron and Lilly. Several nieces and nephews. Arlene was predeceased by her brother Richard (Myrtle), two sisters, Joan (Dominick), and Dorothy.
Previously married to Alfred Paciello (predeceased), Arlene, a self taught entrepreneur, found herself unexpectedly out on her own to raise four children and start a new career in Real Estate in order to financially provide for her home and family. Arlene, was a retired realtor of 43 years with various agencies, Co-owner of Lang Associates in Ridgefield, with Bob Lang until her business was acquired by Coldwell Banker in 1984. In a short period of time Arlene, a natural born sales women, rose to be one of the top selling realtors in the greater Danbury area. She has always been our rock and hero for stepping up to the plate. While others may have given up, she took the bull by the horns and excelled in her career and personal life. We are so proud of all of her accomplishments and we truly admire her, much more than words could ever say.
Arlene was an avid outdoors person. She was a ski instructor and ski patrol at Timber Ridge (Big Birch), loved water skiing, tennis and gardening (former president of a local garden club). Campfire girls group leader. Arlene even ventured to skydive at 80 yrs old and ride a zip line on her 82nd birthday. She was dedicated to her work outs at the club and weekly yoga classes and massage therapy. She belonged to the local chapter of Red Hats. She was an enthusiastic world traveller to the Far East, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Bali. Kenya, Europe, Russia, Israel and most recently Turkey and Greece. She was an active member at Walnut Hill Community church, and volunteered over the years at several local community charities, most recently Jericho Partnership in Danbury. Arlene also treasured her faithful companions, her yorkies, Raffles, Maggie and Winston.
A visitation will take place Friday, January 18, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St, Danbury, Connecticut. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Walnut Hill Community Church, 156 Walnut Hill Road, Bethel, Connecticut.
