My condolences to the entire Mendes family. I can honestly say there are very few people who have influenced my life more than Mindo. He was my "rich" father. Worked for himself, made his own hours, loved to play, loved to laugh, loved diners, loved doughnuts with a good cup of coffee, just plain loved life! I will miss you my friend...you take a piece of my heart with you, but leave a lifetime of memories with me. Jimmyboy

Both Mindo and my dad came from the same small town in Portugal (Lousa). Mindo and I also graduated not just from the same school ( Abbott Tech) but the same shop ( Carpentry). I have known Mindo since the age of 13 when I first met both Mindo and Alan. I can always remember his on going sense of humor! His favorite comment to me was “Will you buy an old pork chop a cup of coffee?”. Of course he would always pay because that’s who Mindo was! Alan, you showed your love to your Dad by being a proud, caring and loving son who was always there when he needed you. My prayers are with you and your family.

Armindo was a wonderful caring man. I left Connecticut quite some time ago . I ran into both Armindo and Dina one evening having dinner while visiting Connecticut a couple of years ago. Once he realized who I was, he broke into that wonderful smile that just made you feel so comfortable. I feel blessed to have known such a kind man. My prayers are with Dina and his entire family during this difficult time.
RIP Armindo 🙏🏻
