
He was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, son of the late Juan and Amelia Hernandez Torres. Ben grew up in Brooklyn New York. He moved to Connecticut in 1976 where he has made his home since.
Ben work as a machinist at Black stone industries and later for Securitas.
He loved to fish in his spare time and was an avid Yankee fan watching until his last day.
Ben leaves behind his sons: Benjamin Torres,Jr. and his wife, Dawn, and Daniel Torres. Two grandsons: Benjamin III and Tyler James. A brother: Joel. Two sisters: Miriam Rodriguez and Blanca Medina and her husband, David. Ben is also survived by former wife of 34 years, Noemi Douglas. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Ben was predeceased by his twin brother, Julio Caesar and sisters Ana Torres and Eva Ramos.
A Graveside service will be conducted Monday, August 12, 2103 at 12pm at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, with Deacon Richard Kovacs officiating.
There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ben’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements by Green Funeral Home, Danbury, CT.
