

Carol (Corcoran) O’Hara, 74 of Woodbury, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the wife of E. Thomas O’Hara for the past 33 years. Carol was born in East Haven, Connecticut, daughter of the late James Horton Bishop and Jacquelyn Cooney. Carol was an avid gardener, excellent cook and baker. She took the time to make everyone she met feel special. She would find out what their favorite desserts were and go out of her way to bake and cook for others. She was an excellent athlete. She most recently enjoyed bowling and all who participated weekly. Carol loved to travel with her husband to Nova Scotia, Cape Cod and Florida yearly since her favorite places on earth were the beaches.
She will be sadly missed by her 4 children, Kelly Corcoran, Scott Corcoran, Megan Corcoran, Sean Corcoran and four step-children Thomas O’Hara, Kimberly Nardone, Kelley Odorisio, Heather Rose and their families, as well as many friends. Carol was predeceased by her brothers James Bishop and Robert Bishop.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Theresa of Avila Church, Woodbury, on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Carol’s name to Habitat for Humanity at www.habitat.org
