

Carolyn L. McLachlan was born in Watertown, MA on December 31, 1929 to Joseph and Mary Fay Lukshaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William Michael McLachlan, her sister Leonore Kendall, a niece Kathryn Kendall, a nephew Kevin Conway and a niece Marcy McLachlan Cherchiara. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Gail (Jimmy) Sherman of LaGrange, GA, Maureen (Steve) Nelson of Tampa, FL, and Bill (Debbie Hallas) McLachlan of New Milford, CT; her eight grandchildren, Jamie (Carol Landsdell) Sherman, Craig (Courtney O’Sullivan) Sherman, Kim Nelson, Matt McLachlan, Neil Sherman, Patrick Nelson, Mike McLachlan and Lauren McLachlan; her two great-grandchildren Hunter Sherman and Sarah Sherman; her sister Marianne Conway of Woburn, MA, seven nieces and six nephews.
Carolyn moved to Danbury, CT when she married William McLachlan in 1954. While raising her three children, Carolyn volunteered her time and resources to many good causes, such as the American Red Cross, Unicef, Head Start and The American Heart Association. She also served as chairman of the Republican Town Committee in Danbury, volunteered at Park Avenue Elementary School and was always willing to help anyone in need. Carolyn and Bill resided in South Palm Beach from the 1980s until Carolyn was widowed in 2009 and moved to LaGrange, GA to be near her daughter Gail.
A Funeral Mass for Carolyn will be on Saturday, June 3rd at 10:00am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield, CT.
