Casper was born in New Haven September 21, 1928, the son of the late Emily (Florio) (Coppolo) Russo, and the late Angelo Russo. A lifelong Danbury resident, he was raised by his mother and step-father, and attended Bullard Haven Technical School, where he studied cabinet making. For many years, Casper was self employed as a carpenter and painter, working in the Danbury and Candlewood Shores area of Brookfield. He was a former member of the Ridgefield Italian/American Club.
In addition to his wife Marie, Casper is survived by his son: Daniel J. Coppolo and his wife Eileen Fuller-Coppolo of Danbury, one brother: Anthony Russo of Danbury, three sisters: Angie Dickenson of Pittsburgh, TX, Phyllis Shook of Danbury, and Marie Ricard of Brookfield, as well as many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog “Belle”. Casper was predeceased by his brother John Russo.
The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home 57 Main Street, Danbury on Tuesday December 4th from 5 to 8pm, with a prayer service to be celebrated at 7:30pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
