Catherine M. Cantwell

Catherine M. Cantwell, 101, of Danbury, passed away at Hancock Hall, on Monday, October 8, 2012. Catherine was born in New York City, daughter of the late Thomas and Marion Lenahan. She graduated from high school in New York City and had worked as a supervisor for Time Magazine prior to her retirement.

She is survived by her son Robert Cantwell of Myrtle Beach, SC and daughters: Geraldine Guidera of Jackson Heights, NY, Carol Link of Mastic, NY, Catherine Dalton of Bethel, CT, and Marion Kosik of Valley Stream NY, her sister Helen Gallagher of Amityville, NY, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her 1st husband Russell Cantwell and 2nd husband Walter Dougherty and six brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Brookville, NY, on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Thursday from 5-8 pm and on Friday at the Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home, Hicksville, NY from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
