
Catherine (Grande) Di Marino age 87, formerly of Larchmont, NY, and most recently Heritage Village, Southbury, died on May 2nd at Masonicare of Newtown. She was the wife of the late Modestino Di Marino.
Catherine was born in Stamford November 18, 1924, the daughter of the late Gaetano and Philomena (Loglisci) Grande. She was a resident of Heritage Village, Southbury since 1994, previously residing in Larchmont, NY. She was a past president of the Southbury Senior Center, and loved cooking and knitting in her spare time.
Catherine is survived by her children: Ralph Di Marino and his wife Nancy of Loudonville, NY, Thomas Di Marino of Prescott, AZ, Angela Di Marino Bassett and her husband William Bassett III of Bethel, her daughter in law Andrea Di Marino of Bethel, one brother: Gaetano (Guy) Grande, Jr. and his wife Joan of Stamford, one sister: Antoinette Cappiello and her husband Louis of Stamford, two sisters in law: Clara Grande of Stamford and Marion Rota and her husband John of Yorktown Hts, NY, seven grandchildren: Brian Di Marino, Jason Di Marino and his wife Riele, Dr. Lauren Di Marino and her husband Jeffrey Emanuel , Katie Bassett Turlis and her husband Scott, Adam Di Marino and his wife Theresa, Heather Bassett Pike and her husband Shawn, Erin Bassett Chretien and her husband Daniel, eight great grandchildren: Hunter and Madison Turlis, Emily, Caroline, and John Di Marino, Owen and Ethan Pike, Jaxon Emanuel, as well as several nieces and nephews. Catherine was predeceased by two brothers: Matthew Grande and his wife Marion, Ralph Grande, and her granddaughter Kristen Di Marino.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday May 7th, at Saint Bridget of Ireland Church, Stamford. Burial will be in the Queen of Peace Cemetery, Stamford. The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury on Sunday May 6th from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
