Charles was born January 28, 1935 to Sophie (Mourning) Armstrong, and Fred Armstrong, Sr. in Aurora, Beauford County, NC. He moved to Danbury, CT, 50 years ago where met and married Elizabeth Farmer. Charles was very industrious, he not only owned his own window washing business but also worked for Perkin-Elmer and Raytheon for over thirty years.
Charles is survived by his two daughters, Deborah Armstrong and Angela Noel, of Danbury, CT; and four sons, Charles Edward Armstrong, Jr., and Steven Armstrong of Danbury, CT, Donald Allen Armstrong, of Colorado City, CO and Aldo Ray Armstrong of Enfield, CT., three grandsons and 1 granddaughter, that he raised from birth as his own, Donald Allen Armstrong, Jr., and Donell Armstrong, of Danbury, CT, Clarence Charles Armstrong, of Cheyenne, WY, and Amanda Armstrong, of Danbury, CT., three sisters, Mabel Clemmons, Annie P. Armstrong, and Betty Cherry and two brothers, Fred Armstrong, Jr. and Elbert Lee Armstrong, all of Danbury, CT., twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by one granddaughter, Ashley Armstrong,
The passing of Charles will leave a very large void in the hearts of his family and friends.
The viewing will be from 9-11am on Saturday October 26th at the Mount Pleasant AME Zion Church, 71 Rowan Street, Danbury, CT., and the funeral will follow immediately afterwards. Burial will be in the Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
