

Beloved husband of Martha Moulton McNamara, he was born November 7th 1951, the eldest son of the late Joseph and Ruth Pendergast McNamara of Danbury Connecticut, he was preceded in death by his brother Raymond McNamara. He is also survived by his beloved sister Maura McNamara and her partner David Harrison of Boulder Creek California, sister-in-law Micheline McNamara and niece Michelle McNamara of Waterbury Connecticut, and by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Charlie graduated from St Peter’s School and Christ the King Preparatory Seminary. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University and his Master’s degree in History from the University of Connecticut. He taught Social Studies at Lincoln Hall in Lincolndale New York for many years. He was an avid student of History, outdoorsman and photographer.
The family will receive friends at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Monday October 28, from 5 to 8 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Church in Danbury on Tuesday, October 29th at 10am.
Special thanks and love are extended to the Critical Care Staff and Rehabilitation Unit Staff at Danbury Hospital for their compassionate care over these last difficult years. We also are grateful for the many caring hours that Jacqueline Porter gave to Charlie during the last year of his life.
