Charlie was born in Greenwich, CT, a son of the late Charles and Katherine (Haight) Stumpf. He was a 1964 graduate of Albany High School. He was a sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1964-1968, and served during the Vietnam War.
Charlie went on to work his dream job in Aviation as a Chief of Maintenance on Gulfstream Jets, receiving the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award honoring 50 years in aviation.
Aside from his work and passion, Charlie loved spending time with his family, particularly cheering on his grandchildren in their many activities. He also loved catching up with friends, taking on new projects, and spending time at the ocean. Charlie had a great sense of humor and put a smile on the faces of all those around him.
Charlie leaves to honor his memory wife, Cathy (Meechan) Stumpf; his daughter, Kaitlin Serini (Matt) of Highland, NY; his son, Thomas Stumpf (Megan) of Newtown, CT; his beloved grandchildren: Isabella Serini, Violet Serini, Charley Stumpf, Brayden Stumpf and Jaxson Stumpf; his brother, Chris Stumpf of Bunnell, FL; his nieces: Cory Lek (Joe) of Jacksonville, FL; Bridget Gavino (Jean-Paul) of Roswell, GA; His 5 great nephews, and many cherished friends, most especially the Benson Drive crew, who became family., also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at St. Joseph Church, Danbury, CT. Interment will be private.
Friends will be received from 4:00pm - 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT
