

Clementina Magliaro, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on her birth date, September 5, 2014, at the age of 88. She was the wife of the late Dominic Magliaro Sr.
Clementina was born in Pratola Serra, Avellino, Italy. She was the daughter of Francesco and Antoinetta (DePalma) Morlando. Following her marriage to Dominic, she joined him to make a new life for their family and arrived in America in 1950. They settled in Danbury, Connecticut and were parishioners of St. Peter Church, Danbury.
Clementina’s talents and interests included cooking, sewing and music. Often, you could hear her singing her favorite traditional Italian songs. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and neighbors. Everyone will miss her generous and caring personality. She had a great sense of humor that was uplifting and contagious.
Clementina most enjoyed being with her family. She was a devoted wife for 66 years to her husband, Dominic. She is survived by her son, Antonio (Sandro) Magliaro and his wife, In Ok, her son, Gerard Magliaro and his wife, Sindi, her daughter, Marie (Magliaro) Jowdy and her husband, James, and her son-in-law, Charles Van Zanten. She also leaves behind her eight beloved grandchildren: Christopher and his wife Lisa, Eugene, Nicholas, Anna, Adrienne Fiege and her husband Jason, Alicia, Joshua, Jessica, and her beloved great-granddaughter, Savannah Frances. Clementina is also survived by her sister, Carmela Fabrizio, and many nieces and nephews all of Italy.
She was predeceased by her son, Dominic Magliaro Jr., her daughter, Frances (Magliaro) Van Zanten, and her brothers Giuseppe, Gerardo, and Antonio Morlando.
The family is appreciative of the special care and friendship that she received from Masonicare of Newtown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday, September 8, 2014 at St. Peter Church, Danbury, with the Reverend Gregg Mecca, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
