Damiana Francisco

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Casimiro (Terri) Francisco; her children Valdemiro and wife Patty of New Preston; Margarida and husband Daniel Sagaria of New Fairfield; her sister Maria da Luz Martins Sampainho of Lousa, Portugal and predeceased by her brother Valdemiro Luis whose wife Lucinda provided her emotional support.

Damiana (Diana) will always be remembered for her sense of style and elegance. In her early years, she was a seamstress, tailor and instructor in Portugal before meeting the love of her life, Casimiro. After coming to the states, she continued her passion for a short time and then later was employed by Davis & Geck as a factory line supervisor retiring after many years of service.

She started her family which has grown to include 7 grandchildren, Shannon, Anthony, Kristi, Joshua, Matthew, Raquel & Carli; several nieces and nephews and a great grandchild. She found pleasure in entertaining her large extended family around the dinner table cooking her signature Portuguese dishes. She was an avid gardener and dearly loved her pet cat LuLu.

Private services and burial celebrating her life were held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish and St.Peters Cemetary respectively. We will always carry her memory in our hearts.
