Born in Memphis, TN, Deoretha was a daughter of the late Jap and Bertha Lenard. She was a Dietary Supervisor at Danbury Hospital for 25 years retiring in 1993.
Survivors include her children: James Hollins, Larry Hollins, Bennie Hollins, Lula Mae Lammie, Mildred Louise Spruill, Deoretha Simone, Chester Lee Hollins, Mary Ann Hollins and Gerald Hollins. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 11am at the New Bethel Church of God in Christ, 26 Liberty St., Danbury with the Rev. Henry N. White, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received at the Church on Tuesday from 10am until the time of the service.
