

Dorothy Badger, 96, of Danbury, CT, passed away on August 19, 2026. She was a recent resident of Spring Village, Danbury, CT. The family of Dorothy wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Spring Village and their staff for their compassion and care and most recently to Constellation Hospice for their compassionate care of Dorothy as well.
Dorothy was born in northern Vermont to her parents Bessie and Ernest. Dorothy was born on Christmas Day, which was befitting for someone as special as Dorothy. She was the loving and devoted wife of Glenn Badger, who predeceased her in 2018. They were married for 70 years.
Dorothy graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre, VT. She worked for National Life Insurance in Montpelier, VT following her graduation and for GMAC in Burlington, VT. Dorothy and Glenn moved to Albany, New York where she began raising her children. In 1960 Dorothy and Glenn moved to Danbury, CT. She later worked in banking in Danbury for many years.
Dorothy was very active in the PTA at Hayestown Elementary School that her children attended. She was a life-long member of Central Christian Church in Danbury, CT where she held several offices. She had a strong faith that was apparent to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Dorothy’s family, daughters Stephanie and Kimberly, and their spouses, along with her granddaughters Amanda, Kathleen and Kelly, and their spouses and her great-grandchildren Lucas, Cecilia, Julia and Everett feel incredibly blessed to have had Dorothy for their loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her great-grandchildren affectionately called her GG. She loved them tremendously and they adored her. Dorothy’s love, wisdom, wit, intelligence and keen sense of humor will be a constant memory for all of them to cherish. Her candle will burn brightly, and her light will never be dimmed.
Dorothy is also survived by several nieces and nephews, of whom she was incredibly fond of as they were of her. She had many friends throughout the years and was often called by her nickname Dottie by those who had the privilege of her friendship. Dorothy lived a full and beautiful life for which her family and friends are all grateful. She was an example of patience and love and adored her family and they adored her. She will be incredibly missed by all.
A Memorial Service for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11:00 am at Central Christian Church, 71 West St. Danbury, CT.
