

Dorothy was born in Danbury, daughter of the late Leonard and Estella (Whaley) Weindorf. She attended a one room schoolhouse in Miry Brook and graduated from Danbury High School in 1941. She worked as a bookkeeper in the area, retiring from Ace Industrial Hardware. She was a member of AARP Chapter #1847. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She took pleasure watching birds and other wildlife, as she crocheted and embroidered gifts for family and friends. You could always find her in the kitchen baking apple crisp and assorted desserts. Reading a good book was a lifelong joy.
She is survived by her daughter Catherine Hallabeck and husband Edward of Danbury and her son Mark A. Ward and wife Marilyn of Hamden, her sister Althea Grover and husband Alan of NY, four granddaughters: Wendy Garland and husband John of MA, Nancy Day and husband Walter of Danbury, Melissa Keyser and husband David of AZ and Andrea Reynolds of Bristol, six great grandchildren: Nora and Nathan Garland, Jenna and Amber Day, Jeremiah and Mark Keyser and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Wooster Cemetery. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
