Duy Binh Nguyen, of Danbury, passed away at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the age of 49.
He was born on August 14, 1969 in Saigon, Vietnam and the oldest child of Du and Lan Nguyen. He is survived by his parents, sister - Thanh Shorter (Simon), and brother - John Nguyen (Emily). He was the loving uncle to six nieces and nephews: Zoe Sinclair, Nathan Sinclair, Jack Shorter, Sophie Shorter, Dean Nguyen, and Audrey Nguyen.
His family immigrated to America and settled in Danbury, CT in 1975. He was a graduate of Immaculate High School and a member of the 10th Mountain Division in the U.S. Army – Fort Drum. He served in Kosovo, Somalia, Egypt, and Panama.
Following his service, he volunteered at the Military Museum of Southern New England in Danbury utilizing his computer skills. His interests were computers, gardening, and barbequing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at St. Gregory the Great Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury on Friday, March 15th between the hours of 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
