

Edward was born in Brooklyn, NY, on July 17, 1931, where he was raised by his loving mother Elizabeth, and his father Edward along with his sister Catherine (now deceased), and a brother, Patrick (who died in infancy). Edward was a devoted husband and loving father of eight. Family was central to him; he worked hard his whole life, often holding several jobs at once, to provide them with all they needed or wanted. Edward loved the arts, often taking his family to museums and plays. He avidly followed politics and world affairs, loved traveling the country by train, and was a diehard Brooklyn Dodgers fan, and then a New York Yankees fan.
In 1952, he joined the U.S. Marines, proudly serving during the Korean War, and went on to attend community college in Queens, NY. Edward was a printer by profession, working for many years at Brady & Palmer in Carmel, NY. Edward was also a skilled carpenter and gardener, working on various projects on the weekends. On November 19, 1955, Edward married Dorothy and went on to raise a family of eight in New Fairfield, CT.
Daughters include Hope Molinaro, wife of Tony Molinaro; Deborah Jaccarino, wife of Steven Jaccarino, with daughters Jennifer, Veronica, and Melissa; Dorothy Woodin, wife of Bill Woodin, with daughters Ashley and Kimberly; Kelly Harra, wife of Robert Christopher Harra, with sons Ryan and Wyatt, and daughter Autumn; and Veronica Mead, with son Michael. Sons include Mark Asendorf; Edward Asendorf, husband of Chutimaporn (Pleng), with son Eddie; and Patrick Asendorf, husband of Brenda, with sons Patrick and Sean. Edward was also blessed with many great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Edward will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.
A funeral Mass will occur on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 21 Brush Hill Rd., New Fairfield, CT.
Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Mountain View Cemetery, CT-37, New Fairfield, CT, where his wife, Dorothy, and his first grandchild, Rachel, also rest.
